GRP Skiers Post Top Results at SuperTour Finals

The GRP ski team wrapped up their season with competitive international racing at US Distance Nationals which doubled as Canadian Nationals. The week of competition in Whistler, British Columbia included five races. 

In the women’s 5k skate individual start race, Caitlin Patterson placed 3rd, Alex Lawson 8th, Annika Landis 25th, and Michaela Keller-Miller 31st. Adam Martin was 9th in the men’s 10k with Braden Becker in 25th, and Akeo Maifeld-Carucci in 30th.

Individual start classic races followed, with Adam winning the men’s 15k. Braden was 15th with Akeo finishing 27th. Caitlin placed 5th in the women’s 10k with Alex in 11th, Margie Freed in 17th, Annika in 31st, and Michaela in 39th. 

The classic sprints saw Caitlin placing 2nd, Alex 12th, Margie 20th, Michaela 25th, and Annika 34th. Braden was 36th for the men. 

The fourth race was a skate team sprint. The GRP Women I team, consisting of Caitlin and Alex, placed 4th. GRP Women II, Annika and Margie, finished in 7th. The GRP Men’s team, Akeo and Braden, placed 4th in the B Heat. 

The week of racing concluded with 45k skate races for both men and women. Adam placed 6th, Braden 21st, and Akeo 23rd. Caitlin earned another podium, placing 2nd, with Margie finishing in 11th and Michaela in 38th. 

A special congratulations to Adam, Akeo, and Caitlin who are retiring from professional skiing. They will be missed! 

The GRP skiers now take a month off for some rest and recuperation before returning to training for next year. Thank you all for following along and cheering this season!
