Biathletes from the Green Racing Project traveled to Lake Placid’s new competition venue to race in the US Biathlon National Championships. Some GRP athletes did not compete due to COVID.

In the men’s opening sprint competition, junior competitor Bjorn Westervelt placed 6th, with Raleigh Goessling in 8th and Luke Brown in 10th. The women claimed all three podium positions in the sprint with Clare Egan in 1st, Kelsey Dickinson in 2nd, and Hallie Grossman finishing in 3rd.

In the men’s pursuit, Luke placed 6th with Raleigh finishing in 7th. Bjorn took the victory for the junior men. Clare then won the women’s pursuit as Kelsey maintained 2nd and Hallie moved to 4th.

The weekend finished with fun inter-club relays with all the athletes competing on a mix of teams including youth and junior athletes from all over the East Coast.

All National’s results can be found on Bullitttiming.

Another big congratulations to retiring GRP athletes Clare Egan, Susan Dunklee, and Hallie Grossman!

GRP biathletes now look forward to a month-long break before jumping back into off-season training. Thanks for following along this year!
