GRP Biathletes Compete at Open European Championships
This past week, IBU Open European Champs got underway in Minsk-Raubichi, Belarus. In addition to the top IBU Cup regulars, many World Cup teams competed at this events as did GRP athletes Hallie Grossman, Raleigh Goessling, and Alex Howe.
This competitive championship event kicked off with a super sprint in which Hallie finished 98th. For the men, Raleigh placed 82nd with only two misses and Alex finished 98th. In the mixed relay, Hallie and Alex were joined by USBA teammates Kelly Kjorlien and Travis Cooper. The team was lapped and placed 22nd. In the sprint race, Hallie finished 80th. On the men’s side Raleigh placed 79th and Alex 89th.
While Open Euro Champs proved to be a tough week for the GRP, they have another shot next weekend at the final IBU Cup of the season which will also be held in Minsk-Raubichi. Additionally, stay tuned as World Cup racing resumes March 5th in Nove Mesto.
