[GRP Snow] Lost Nation Roll Recap

Green Racing Project athletes tested their mid-summer fitness this past weekend with the first event in this year’s NENSA Rollerski Race Series. Racers skated four laps of the 2.5k roller loop in an individual start format.

GRPer Margie Freed took the victory in the women’s race, with a time of 26:29, over Lina Sutro (SMS T2) by twenty-five seconds. GRP biathlete, Kelsey Dickinson, rounded out the podium thirty-five seconds back from Freed. These two skiers led the GRP women in an impressive team day including Alex Lawson in 4th, Annika Landis 5th, Waverly Gebhardt (GRP U23) 6th, Tara Geraghty-Moats 7th, Jackie Garso 9th, Annie McColgan (GRP U23) 10th, and Emma Stertz (GRP U23) in 13th.

Brian Bushey (GRP U23) was the top Cedar Sprig in the men’s race, placing 2nd behind UVM’s Ben Ogden by eleven seconds. Finn Sweet (GRP U23) placed 3rd with GRP training partner Sean Doherty in 4th. GRP biathlete Raleigh Goessling placed 7th.

The Cedar Sprigs return to normal summer training this week until a crew of athletes heads to Lincoln, New Hampshire next weekend for the Loon Mountain running race.
