[GRP Ski] Lake Placid SuperTour Update

Written by Luke Brown

The Green Racing Project skiers traveled to Lake Placid this past weekend to start Period III of SuperTour racing. Competitions took place on the venue’s new World Cup trails and also marked the beginning of fluoro-free domestic racing.

On the first day of competition, Braden Becker was the GRP’s top man, placing 18th in the classic sprint. He was followed by Adam Martin and Akeo Maifeld-Carucci in 26th and 27th respectively. Alex Lawson led the way for the women, placing 8th. Margie Freed was 9th, Annika Landis 11th, and Michaela Keller-Miller finished 23rd.

In Sunday’s 10k skate mass start, the GRP men placed three in the top nine: Adam was 2nd, Akeo 5th, and Braden was close behind in 9th. Adam currently leads the SuperTour overall competition.

Alex placed 7th in the women’s 10k skate mass start as the GRP women put four in the top fifteen. Margie was 11th, Annika 13th, and Michaela placed 15th.

The Sprigs head back to prepare for next weekend’s SuperTour at home on the Craftsbury trails.
