GRP Senior Success Sees All Boats in Semifinals

STREAMING INSTRUCTIONS BY USROWING CAN BE FOUND HERE

Senior racing began in the afternoon with the Women’s 1x kicking off the Time Trials. Erin Boxberger placed eighth with a time of 7:31.550.  Emily Froehlich followed close behind finishing tenth with a time of 7:36.241. Erin will race in Semifinal 2 at 3:32 PM EST and Emily will race in Semifinal 3 at 3:39 PM EST. Both will have to place top two to advance to the final.

The Men’s 1x Time Trial followed the Women, with all four GRP entries advancing to the Semifinals. Mark Couwenhoven placed sixth with a time of 6:43.339, Luke Rein placed seventh with a time of 6:46.174, Lucas Bellows finished ninth with a time of 6:47.859, and Jack Reid placed sixteenth with a time of 6:56.266. Luke and Mark will race each other in Semifinal 1 at 3:46 PM EST. Lucas and Jack will be doing the same in Semifinal 3 at 4:00 PM EST. All crews will have to place in the top two to advance to their Final.

The Women’s 2- of Bridget Schodorf and her partner Allyson Baker went off next for GRP (Composite) Crews. They placed fourth with a time of 7:43.873. They will race in Semifinal 1 at 4:07 PM EST and will have to place in the top three to advance to the final. The Men’s 2- went off next, where the composite crew of Webster Thompson and Nick Ruggiero took fourth place with a time of 6:33.312. These two will race in Semifinal 3 at 4:35 PM EST and will have to place in the top two to advance to the final.

Our two Women’s 2x crews had the next trip down the course. The crews came out with an amazing first and second place finish. Emily Delleman and Jen Forbes came in first with a time of 6:41.917, followed closely by Grace Joyce and Christine Cavallo with a time of 6:43.070. Emily and Jen will race in Semifinal 1 at 4:42 PM EST while Grace and Christine will race in Semifinal 2 at 4:49 PM EST. Both will have to place in the top two to advance to the final.

The Men’s 2x of Jacob Plihal and Alexander Hedge had their Time Trial next. The double finished second with a time of 6:03.148. These two will take on Semifinal 2 tomorrow at 5:03 PM EST where they will need to place in the top two to advance to the final.

The last GRP race of the day was a second opportunity for Grace and Christine in the Lightweight Women’s 2x. These two turned and burned a second race of the day and came in second with a time of 6:53.579. They advance straight to the final and will race this event on Sunday with details to come.
