GRP Sends Skiers to final OPA Cups
Alex Lawson, Braden Becker, and Margie Freed in Sappada, Italy.
A group of GRP skiers traveled to Sappada, Italy for a weekend of OPA Cup racing against a strong international field.
The first day of racing featured an interval start classic 10/15k in which Alex Lawson placed 7th, Margie Freed 9th, and Braden Becker 38th. Next up were 10/15k mass start skate competitions. In a race won by America’s Alayna Sonnesyn, of the SMS T2 team, Alex placed 7th with Margie close behind in 8th. Braden finished in 21st, only twenty-six seconds behind the winner.
These Cedar Sprigs now travel directly to Whistler, British Columbia where they will meet up with the rest of the skiers for SuperTour Distance Nationals.
