Racing wrapped up for our GRP rowers Friday morning with some exciting racing and impressive results!

In the Men’s 1x, John Graves came away with the win. This means he will be named the Men’s United States 1x that will race at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta, from May 15-17, and race to earn a spot on the Olympic team for Tokyo 2020. Lucas Bellows had a great race coming in second place behind John, and Kevin Meador who rowed under Riverside but a recent alum of the GRP finished third.

In the Women’s Lightweight 2x, Grace Joyce and Christine Cavallo finished in second place in a very fast final.

In the Men’s 2x Jacob Plihal and Mark Couwenhoven finished in fourth place in what was another competitive final.

The GRP will continue to train down south in North Carolina to prepare for Olympic Trials II in New Jersey April 12-16!
