Tucker and Simon pushing through today’s racing

Tucker and Simon demonstrated good poise today in not one but two races, showing their proficient ability to recover quickly and perform under pressure. In the repechage this morning, they put down a time of 6:40.51, missing a spot in the A/B Semifinal but confidently defeating the Slovakian double to go to the C/D Semifinal. After a brief four hour respite between the races, the two young scullers prepared to take it down the course again against the doubles from Sweden, Canada, and Estonia. They had to finish in the top 3 to earn a spot in the C Final, and did so with an impressive first place finish. In what looked like one of the tightest races of the day, they edged out the doubles from Sweden, Canada, and Estonia with a time of 6:29.49, finishing less than a half second in front of Sweden, about a second in front of Canada, and only 2.5 seconds in front of Estonia. These two will race in the C Final from lane 3 against the doubles from Canada, Sweden, Moldova, Norway, and Hungary. This will be their last race of the regatta so Tucker and Simon will be sure to leave it all out on the course.
