Thomas and Hatcher Pursue Repechage Success

Results from Today’s Heat

Tucker Thomas and Simon Hatcher put down a very impressive piece today, especially considering it was their first time throwing down on the international stage. The crew put together a highly successful first 1500m, coming through the 1500m mark in 2nd place. In their last 500, they decided that the best approach was to “literally just vibe” and maintain a strong base rate while all the crews around them went through their sprints. As such, the crew crossed the line in 4th place to advance to the Repechage tomorrow with a time of 6:40.98. They race again tomorrow in the 3rd Repechage on July 9th at 4:00 AM EST, against the crews from Germany, Italy, and Slovakia, where a top two finish will earn them a spot in the A/B Semifinal.

The live stream to watch the racing replay can be found here, and tomorrow’s racing will be streamed here. For more news, results, and updates, please continue to check the GRP News, the GRP Facebook page, or the GRP Instagram account for updates! Go Sprigs!
