GRP Biathlon Wraps up IBU Cup Season in Italy

After a three week break in competition, the IBU Cup resumed with racing in Lenzerheide, Switzerland and Ridnaun, Italy.

In the opening sprint in Switzerland, Kelsey placed 25th and Hallie 43rd, with Tara and Luke both finishing in 53rd. Then, after a strong 10th place in the super sprint qualification, Kelsey finished in 20th. Hallie was 46th, Tara 47th, and Luke 55th. The final Lenzerheide race was a mass start 60, in which Kelsey placed 10th, Hallie 43rd, Luke 47th, and Tara 53rd. 

These Sprigs then traveled to Ridnaun and in the weekend’s opening sprint Kelsey placed 17th, Hallie 23rd, Luke 41st, and Tara 51st. In the following pursuit, Kelsey moved to 19th, Hallie stayed at 23rd, Luke dropped to 48th, and Tara finished in 55th. Single mixed and mixed relays closed out the IBU Cup season - Kelsey led the US single mixed team to 10th place with Hallie and Tara leading out the mixed relay team that finished in 13th.

Next up for the GRP biathlon team will be Nationals in Lake Placid, March 25-28th.
