Matthes Ends Worlds Proudly

Anna 5.jpeg

Anna made her way down the course with confidence and poise today to finish out her time racing at U23 World Championships. In a stacked B Final, she once again demonstrated her unstoppable base pace, starting the race behind the pack but clawing through the competition place by place to end up in fourth, challenging the Irish sculler to a sprint finish and only finishing .73 seconds behind with a time of 8:07.20. Anna had a series of amazing races this week, showing an amazing trajectory by advancing through the repechage and making it to the B Final. She showed an incredible race strategy and was always able to keep her wits about her, using her technical proficiency and amazing fitness to fight through highly competitive fields of racers. The Green Racing Project and the US U23 Team are lucky to have had a competitor such as her representing their colors for the regatta. Her racing replay can be found here. Go Sprigs!
