The GRP Row squad traveled down to the Charles River in Cambridge, MA to compete in the largest 3-day regatta in the world, October 20-22. The team had some standout performances, including podium results in the Women’s Champ 2x and the Men’s Champ 4-. Seeded 11th out of 22 boats, the women’s double of Sophie Calabrese and Sera Busse rowed consistently, with 2nd place splits along the whole course, finishing only 13 seconds behind first.

“The result means a lot to us,” Sera said. “We’ve put in a lot of great work this fall in order to build to some bigger goals we have in the future, and this was a great stepping stone toward achieving them. It was an honor to race in a field that was deep with talent and experience. We definitely hope to go back next year and build on the result!”

Sophie and Sera: 2nd, Women’s Champ 2x
Alexander Hedge, Jacob Plihal, Kai Hoite, and non-GRPer Evan Olson: 2nd, Men’s Champ 4-
