350!
Yesterday was 10/10/10, and the date of a “global work party” for climate change, organized by 350.org. The idea was for people all over the world to do something productive to help negate climate change, while at the same time raising further awareness of the idea of 350–that is that 350 parts per million is the safe amount of carbon dioxide for us to have in the atmosphere, a number which we have already surpassed. Yesterday those of us who were in Craftsbury joined up with a Sterling College work party and helped rake and move LOTS of leaves to the common, where we shaped them into a giant 350, before moving them to be mulch on their gardens. We got to pay in the huge pile of leaves first though, which was lots of fun!! This is what it looked like:
