Race Day #3

Lia took this great frazzled, pre-race shot...

Today was the last race of the Yellowstone Ski Festival, a 5k classic for women and 10k for men (results here). I think it’s safe to say that we’re all bummed out about the altitude at this point. I am happier with my race than I was yesterday, because today at least I felt like I was working really hard, whereas yesterday I couldn’t ever really get going – but still, it just wasn’t very fast. Pepa says we all looked like we were in “slow motion”. Bummer.

Nevertheless, it’s good to have one race weekend completed. Patience isn’t exactly something I’m great at, but I’m trying to not get frustrated because I know I can ski better than this. I think we all have high expectations of this season after our first summers of full-time training, but success doesn’t always come immediately! Cue the inspirational quotes, or, I bet you could find some great ones over at Team Today
